Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and management to Courage Connection’s Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing Programs for domestic violence survivors which are staffed and operated 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Provide oversight to Client Advocates and Children’s Case Manager. Ensure the programs provide survivor-centered and quality services. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, grant and funding requirements.
· Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate staff according to funding requirements and staff development goals. Ensure focus on client advocacy and excellence in service provision and documentation.
· Evaluate programs and services to ensure that clients’ needs and funder requirements are being met, including implementing ongoing processes for program evaluation.
· Create and manage Client Advocate schedules.
· Ensure all Client Advocate shifts are covered and the flexibility to cover shifts as needed.
· Review and approve direct reports, timesheets and time off requests.
· Responsible for the oversight and upkeep of shelter offices.
· Ensure that eligibility and services are provided appropriately.
· Provide direct service to clients as needed.
· Adhere to all of Courage Connection’s documentation standards and ensure timely documentation and compliance.
· Engage in activities to increase public awareness and education related to the issues of domestic violence.
· Be a champion for the agency, clients and staff at all times.
· Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
· Attend all meetings and complete all forms and reports required by direct supervisor, funders, Executive Director, or the Board.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate program needs including evenings and weekends.
· Carry out other duties as assigned or as necessary to ensure organizational success.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Minimum of two years of experience in social services, supervisory, administrative and team development experience.
· Experience supervising, hiring, mentoring, and training employees.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff and community partners.
· Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and focus on providing survivor-centered services.
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
· Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service.
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
· High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards and agency policies.
· Must be able to listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
