Relationships, Empowerment, Safety, Protection, Equality, Consent, for Teens
I Heart RESPECT; is designed to educate and inform teens about dating violence and encourage healthy relationships. The program will teach the effects of an abusive relationship while providing a safe open environment for discussion and sharing. Students will learn the dynamics of power and control and as well as identifying various types of emotional, verbal, financial, sexual, digital, spiritual, and physical abuse.
Courage Connection staff along with Dr. Rachel Garthe, of the U of I School of Social Work, will host an informational meet and greet for parents, teachers, administrators, and community members. We will present the details of our middle school curriculum and share information on Courage Connection services; refreshments will be provided.
