Interested in interning with Courage Connection? In the past, we have placed students who are affiliated with The Career Center’s UIntern program, the School of Social Work, and other U of I departments for semester-long placements. However, we are open to placement with students from any college.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Some understanding of trauma-informed care
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Our direct service volunteers and interns must complete a 40-hour Domestic Violence Training program which we provide for making the initial minimum 10-hour-a-week service commitment. All volunteers and Interns must complete the Illinois DCFS Mandated reporter training and the background checks required by the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
