We are currently looking to fill the part-time position of Grants Assistant with the most qualified individual to help us carry out best practices to achieve the mission of our organization and to help families in our community.



  • Complete grant reports, applications, and associated compliance requirements
  • Provide operational support for Operations Director
  • Complete data entry for funder and program reports as required
  • Coordinate technology requests with approved vendor(s)
  • Other duties as assigned




  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff, and community partners
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and training skills
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook), database, and grant management software
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred; prior experience with grant management and/or data entry strongly preferred


Pay rate is $15/hr.

Can you honestly handle stress well, work in a collaborative team, be trusted to work reliably with little supervision, AND be someone others enjoy working with?

If so, maybe you would be a great Court Advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence: Assist in preparing orders of protection, provide Illinois Domestic Violence Act (IDVA) education, provide and respond to legal and agency referrals. A Court Advocate provides crisis intervention, educates on court options, along with providing  emotional support. Able to keep informed of current  information regarding domestic violence issues and policies. Candidate will collect data, record, and manage corresponding paperwork while meeting tight deadlines. Additional role of position would be to provide community outreach presentations and trainings and to  provide agency support with collaborative case management and staffing a 24-hour hotline.

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide IDVA court advocacy, assist survivors in obtaining Orders of Protection, educate victims on their rights as a victim of crime as it pertains to the IDVA and the Violent Crime Victims Assistance Program.

A BA in criminal justice, legal studies, psychology, education, social studies, or other related field is required. Bilingual ability would be an exceptional asset. Certificate of 40 hour domestic violence training required and can be provided as part of employment. Must have excellent communication and writing skills. While experience in working with victims of domestic violence is preferred, candidate must have experience working with people from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio economic backgrounds
