COUNSELOR

 

Courage Connection provides housing and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence. We believe in the right of every person to safety and the potential of every person for success.

We are currently looking to fill the full-time position of Domestic Violence Counselor with the most qualified applicant to help us carry out our organizational mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide counseling and support to residential and non-residential clients
  2. Facilitate support groups
  3. Maintaining confidential client files
  4. Meet all agency/funder documentation requirements
  5. Client referrals
  6. Coverage of 24 hour DV hotline (as needed)
  7. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  2. Completion of DV 40 hours training preferred, but not required
  3. Experience counseling individuals and/or families
  4. Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  5. Computer proficiency
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Ability to work independently to carry out assignments

Hourly wage:  $16.00/hr.

THERAPIST

Full-time

 

We are currently looking to fill the full-time position of Therapist with the most qualified applicant to help us carry out our organizational mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate empowerment and support groups
  • Provide individual, family and/or group therapy for residential and non-residential clients
  • Responsible for the oversight and upkeep of support group areas
  • Document all client meetings and groups; maintain client files to meet agency and funder requirements
  • Make client referrals and network with appropriate agencies
  • Engage in activities to increase public awareness and education related to the issues of domestic violence and homelessness
  • Supervision and support of agency counseling staff
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree and licensure required
  • Two years therapy/counseling experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff, and community partners
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

CLIENT ADVOCATE

PART-TIME

Our organizational mission is to provide a continuum of services so that individuals and families can achieve safety, stability, and self-sufficiency.

 

We are currently looking to fill the part-time position of Client Advocate with the most qualified individual to help us carry out best practices to achieve the mission of our organization and to help families in our community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide supportive crisis services
  • Client advocacy
  • Document client meetings and groups
  • Maintain client files to meet agency and funder requirements
  • Provide appropriate support to other clients as needed
  • Answering agency 24-hour crisis hotline
  • Coordinate service and safety plans with other direct service staff
  • Make client referrals and network with appropriate agencies
  • Participate in community activities and resource building opportunities with clients and for the agency
  • Other duties as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS:        

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff, and community partners
  • Excellent organizational and life skills
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practice
  • Must have at least 1 year of case management experience
  • BSW preferred; MSW strongly preferred

Children’s Case Manager

We are currently looking to fill the full-time position of Children’s Case Manager with the most qualified individual to help us carry out best practices to achieve the mission of our organization and to help families in our community.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Providing child/parent crisis supportive services
  2. New client orientation
  3. Regular planning/implementation of child special events around children’s holidays and school schedule
  4. Assisting in program development (including new events, events/activities for older/teenage children, and parenting skill development)
  5. Monitor and report on developmental needs of each child.
  6. Education and safety planning
  7. Maintaining confidential client files
  8. Facilitate parenting and other supportive and educational child focused groups
  9. Participation in volunteer training and community education
  10. Assisting with 24-hour crisis hotline
  11. Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of two years’ experience in social services
  2. Experience with case management
  3. Experience working with victims and/or survivors of domestic violence.
